The Admissions Exercise for International Students (AEIS) provides an opportunity for international students to seek admissions to Primary 2 to 5 and Secondary 1 to 3 for the upcoming academic year.

An Overview of AEIS Singapore for Primary Levels

Application Period: The AEIS typically commences in July, with successful applicants starting school in January of the following year.

 

Process:

  • Application: International students apply to take the relevant AEIS tests.
  • Testing: Applicants take the AEIS tests.
  • Outcome: Admission is contingent upon performance in the tests, with placement based on available vacancies and residential area preferences.

Admission is not guaranteed and is contingent upon your child’s performance in the tests. Successful candidates will be placed based on available vacancies in MOE schools and your declared residential area, where possible.

  • July 2022: Cambridge English Qualifications (CEQ) Test Application Opens
  • July 2023: Receive CEQ Test Results
  • July 11 to July 24, 2023: Apply for AEIS-Primary Mathematics Test
  • September 14, 2023: AEIS-Primary Mathematics Test
  • December 2023: Release of Outcome 
  • January 2024: School Commencement

 

Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants must meet age requirements and attain the minimum Cambridge English Scale (CES) score in the Cambridge English Qualifications (CEQ) test.

 

Application Process:

  • Create an Account: Register your child on the Candidates Portal (CP).
  • Submit Online Application: Complete the online application on CP, including uploading necessary documents and paying applicable fees.
  • Check Application Status: Monitor the CP for updates on your application status.
  • Receive Entry Proof once your application is approved and payment is successful

 

Test Details:

The AEIS tests vary according to the intended education level, encompassing Mathematics and English components, each tailored with specific formats and durations.

 

Preparing for the AEIS Test:

For AEIS-Primary, your child should be well-versed in Mathematics topics taught in our mainstream schools for the level preceding the one they are applying for. For instance, if seeking admission to Primary 3, familiarity with Primary 2 content is essential.

Similarly, for AEIS-Secondary, proficiency in English and Mathematics topics taught in mainstream schools for the preceding level is crucial. For example, aspiring candidates for Secondary 3 should be acquainted with Secondary 2 content.

 

Release of Outcome:

  • Outcome notifications are accessible via the AEIS Internet System (AEIS-IS) during specified periods.
  • Successful applicants must report to their assigned school within designated reporting periods.

 

Admission Requirements:

  • Admission confirmation may require a valid Long-Term Visit Pass (LTVP), Dependant’s Pass (DP), or Immigration Exemption Order (IEO).
  • Students without valid passes may need to obtain a Student’s Pass (STP) upon admission, facilitated by the school.
